Tired of corporate america and longing for the real real world, I decided to quit my job and head south.  Four of the best months of my life were those I spent as a volunteer in the desert of Northern Peru.  Here are the pictures and stories and people of a very special place.

“.... It is one thing to think about saying goodbye to your friends, fellow volunteers, who have shared in this amazing experience with you, and quite another to look in their eyes and realize you will most likely never all be together again, at least all at once and at least not in Peru where you have bonded, made connections, shared stories, laughed, cried, seen each other at their best and at their worst, people you have learned with and from and through, and shared some of the best, intense highs and severely intense sorrows and lows.  It is one thing to say goodbye to a town you work, is another thing to realize in this land of poverty live some of the most beautiful people, strong spirits, and triumphant souls that you may ever meet. A place that that has taught you so much about life, about what it means to work so hard and receive so little, the true meaning of sacrifice, of perseverance.  A place where the land is poor, yet moments shared among friends and family are rich.  Where people who have so little but are always ready to share with you...”
